Josiah recently had the opportunity to ride through our local grocery store in a Caroline’s Cart. It totally changed our shopping experience in a remarkable way.
Prior to this, Josiah didn’t frequent the grocery store much. Not since the days we could squish his extra long body into the toddler section of the grocery cart. Not since the days we could hoist him up over the side to sit in the main section of the grocery cart. Not since the days he started throwing the groceries out of the cart because they were taking up ‘his’ space.
Shopping for food for our family has evolved over the years, much like everything else in our lives, to a tag team system. One parent stays in the car with Josiah while the other parent races through the store, loading up on necessities. Never mind just keeping Josiah home on grocery days. He likes to get out as much as the rest of us. So, we take him, but only for the ride in the car part.
That is until the local Kroger store opened a mile away from us. They have ONE Caroline Cart available for customers which has totally transformed our lives. It has a 5 point harness system for added security and drives almost effortlessly down the aisles. Josiah really enjoyed it. We really enjoyed being able to leisurely walk through the store getting what we needed while giving him the opportunity to be a part of the whole experience.
Caroline’s Carts can be found in area Kroger, HEB and Target stores. Check the website to see if they are available in your area. http://www.carolinescart.com/find-a-store/ You can also watch a video highlighting this amazing product here. https://youtu.be/18XTiznB1VU
Here’s something else amazing about Caroline’s Carts. The one at our Kroger store was donated and not purchased by the grocery chain. I’ll need to do a little more investigating to learn how that happened, because if it just takes a phone call or two to get them in more locations, I will be all over that idea.
For now, I’m just grateful to have found an incredible solution so close to home. Our Wal Mart Neighborhood Market (which I love by the way since it is so small and never crowded and so convenient) does not have a Caroline’s Cart. I’ve taken Josiah there a handful of times and almost without fail, we’ve had to leave the store very shortly after entering it. There’s just something about walking through the grocery store Josiah does not enjoy. I grab 3-5 items, race to the self check out (praying he won’t drop to the ground or bolt for the door) swipe my debit card, toss our items in a bag and race out the door.
Seriously, it’s more of a sprint.
Wal Mart pays us money BACK. Down load the Wal Mart app, scan your receipts within 7 days of purchase and if a competitor advertises a special deal for a lower price, they give you the difference. Amazing right?
Who does that?
I’ve accrued $11.15 in 2 months just by shopping at Wal Mart. Kroger hasn’t paid us a penny, but Kroger has a Caroline’s Cart. That my friends makes all the difference in the world.
Guess where Josiah and I will be doing our shopping?
Great!!! Knew about the Wal-Mart Savings Catcher, but never heard of the cart!
I remember hearing about this cart last year but had never actually seen one until the new Kroger opened. Every store needs at least one!
